Mcleary SXD runner up for Raceline Pirelli Suzuki

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki press release:

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki has wrapped up the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship on the second step of the SXD podium after an action packed final round at Knights Stadium in Melbourne on the weekend.

After heading to round six in the box seat to take out the SXD title, Brock Mcleary was forced to settle for third place at round six, which left him tied on points for the championship, forcing organisers to award the title on a countback, making Mcleary this years SXD runner up after finishing the final race of the year in second place.

For fellow team mate Jesse Madden, round six provided the team with the final opportunity to finish inside the SX2 top ten, and although Madden recorded some of his most impressive results of the season with a sixth overall for the night, the Queenslander finished in 11th in the SX2 championship – just four points shy of the top ten.

Raceline supported junior lites rider Jackson Davison also concluded his supercross championship campaign on Saturday with fifth overall, leaving the young rider in an outstanding fourth place in the junior lites championship standings.

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki would like to thank each and every sponsor, supporter, and team member for their contribution to the success of Raceline in 2015, and look forward to the race season kicking off in 2016.

Brock Mcleary – SXD 3rd Overall (2nd in SXD Championship)

“The weekend didn’t exactly go to plan, I really wanted to go out and win the first main to extend my points lead but instead I got held up in the first turn and could only salvage a fourth losing a bunch of points,” he said.

“The second race I gave it my all but unfortunately it wasn’t enough and I came out with second, losing the championship on count back.

“All in all I am still happy with the result and am proud of my achievements after being off the bike for so long earlier in the year.

“Just want to give a huge thanks to Chris Woods and the whole Raceline team, I loved every minute of this season working with these guys and I couldn’t have achieved this result without them.”

Jesse Madden – SX2 6th Overall (11th in SX2 Championship)

“It was a great weekend for our team, and I’m stoked for Brock after wrapping up second in the SXD championship,” he said.

“The start of the day was tough for me, trying to get the flow of the track sorted and the woops, they were big, but once I did I felt great.

“I managed to grab a holeshot in the main but first lap over the finish jump I made a little mistake that cost me four positions. I pushed through and finished in sixth so I was very happy with my result.

“My bike has been awesome all year and the boys did a great job prepping them and having them ready for me each time I went out. I’m stoked to have finished top ten in my first season of racing lites – it’s been a crazy experience and I’ve learnt heaps.

“I can’t thank Chris Woods and everyone else involved for helping me out this season it’s been amazing, Raceline really is the best team and people to be around.”

Chris Woods – Raceline Pirelli Suzuki Team Manager

“It’s been a pretty good year for us as a team, and although it was disappointing for Brock to miss out on that SXD Championship, if you’re going to lose it, being tied on points isn’t a bad way to do it,” he said.

“We absolutely love going racing against the GYTR guys, and although it didn’t go our way this year it was awesome to go racing and push each other along the way.

“We are stoked with how Jesse finished off the year – The Sydney round really hurt him points wise, so to finish just outside the top ten in his rookie lites season we couldn’t really be happier.

“I have to give a huge thanks to our sponsors and supporters for allowing us to keep going racing in 2015. From Link International, Suzuki, Lusty Industries, Pro Circuit, and everyone from our friends to customers, we couldn’t go racing without them. They aren’t only our supporters but they’re our mates and we are very grateful for the support they’ve given us.”

“I also want to make special mention of our team mechanics Josh and Dylan – we’re quite a young team but both those boys have been very professional and made going racing on weekends a lot of fun and we have all enjoyed every minute.”
