Canard and Martin win Japanese national finals

Katsuya claims second overall in one-off appearance.

American duo Trey Canard in the 450cc class and Jeremy Martin in the 250cc class have won the last round of the All Japan Motocross Championship at Sugo over the weekend.

Both riders scored 2-1 results in a day that saw a few crashes. Both Martin and Tim Gajser crashed, Martin coming back from last in his opening moto to finish second and Gajser crashed in the second moto while leading to finish fifth. Aussie regular Takeshi Katsuya claimed second overall.

Yamaha’s newly-crowned MXGP World Champion Romain Febvre finished third in the 450 class with 3-2 results. The second 450 moto Canard and Febvre had an awesome battle with Canard getting the verdict.

Australian Lewis Stewart also contested the final round at Sugo in the 250 class riding a KTM, going 10th in moto one and 12th in the second for 10th overall.
