Private team expands with capable SX2 class contender.
Queenslander Wade Hunter has secured a seat on the DPH Peter Stevens Yamaha team for the remainder of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship in the SX2 division.
Hunter starred during the MX Nationals series on board a YZ250F as a relative privateer, ending the MX2 season seventh overall, and was also seventh in Bathurst’s supercross opening round.
“We are really excited to see what Wade can do upon one of our DPH Yamahas and are looking forward to round two,” commented DPH Peter Stevens Yamaha team owner Dale Hocking.
The DPH Peter Stevens Yamaha team was originally slated to field the popular Josh Cachia in the SX2 supercross series, before a wrist injury ultimately ended his campaign prior to round one.
Also contesting supercross on the DPH Peter Stevens Yamaha team for 2015 is lead rider Lawson Bopping in SX1 and Boyd Hocking – son of Dale – on the team’s existing SX2 entry.
