Kade Mosig proved to be the big improver of the 2015 season in the MX1 division, racing his factory CDR Yamaha YZ450F to second place in the MX Nationals as the championship wrapped up over the weekend.

Mosig posted several round wins and showed real place on his way to his best ever result in a national professional championship to take second behind championship winner, Kirk Gibbs.

He rounded out the season with a sixth place finish at the final round at Coolum on the weekend but again showed he had the speed to be up the front. Mosig took out the Superpole event with the fastest qualifying lap but some mistakes in both motos prevented him from capitalizing on his pace advantage.

Recovering from a bad start, Mosig motored through to fourth place in the opening moto and then when he was applying pressure to the race leader in race two, he stalled the bike and dropped several positions. He charged back to sixth place and was able to secure second place in the championship.

“I feel it has been a very positive year for me and the last few round things have really started to click. As a team we kept working hard and developing the bike and my riding improved so the results started to flow.

“Second is a good result for myself and happy with how the season progressed. I feel we have some real momentum to take into the supercross season and I look forward to getting started on that as soon as possible.

“Thank you to the CDR Yamaha team and our sponsors for their efforts this year and my mechanic Mike Landman who always has my back. I will be back next year and hope to go one better,” Mosig ends.

Team mate Dan Reardon had a challenging day that included a crash in the opening moto. He finished the round in eighth place and the championship in sixth place after a two year break from racing.

“It wasn’t the best way to finish the championship but I tried my best and still have a passion for racing. I have really enjoyed being back at the track again and I can’t wait for supercross to start. “Thank you to CDR Yamaha for giving me the opportunity to return to racing to my sponsors who always stand by me,” Reardon said.

Team owner, Craig Dack reflected on a challenging season but was full of praise for his team for their fighting spirit. “We certainly had some tough times this year with injury and on track incidents, but to the riders and teams credit, we refocused, stuck to our guns and turned things around in the later part of the championship.

“Kade won three rounds this year which is the most he has ever won in a season and Dan won a round in his comeback year as well so it was good to see both riders having success and as a team that’s four round wins out of ten. “At CDR Yamaha, we strive for success and we will continue to work hard and will be back to win the 2016 championship,” Dack states.
