Podium reward for Raceline Pirelli Suzuki at Toowoomba

Madden battles to pair of podiums at Echo Valley.

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki press release:

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki has returned to the podium, and collected valuable championship points, after a successful outing for MXD pilot Jesse Madden at round nine of the MX Nationals in Toowoomba over the weekend.

With the team quietly confident heading into round nine, Madden did exactly what was required, and proved that his hard work in the three weeks prior, has well and truly paid off.

When the Pirelli MXD class headed out for their timed qualifying session, Madden took to the challenging conditions, recording the fifth fastest lap time and setting himself, as well as the Suzuki backed team up for a day of celebration.

In moto one, Madden managed to rip a start he is known for before quickly moving into second position behind series leader Wilson Todd. Despite Madden’s efforts, and sticking with Todd for a solid ten minutes, the Raceline Pirelli Suzuki machine crossed the line in second position at the conclusion of race one.

In moto two, Madden once again got to a solid start, however being a couple of positions down, Madden was forced to fight for his spot on the MXD podium. Despite the deteriorating track conditions, Madden charged to an impressive third place, handing him and the team an encouraging third overall for the round. Madden now sits in fourth in the Pirelli MXD Championship standings and trails third place by 35 points, as the series heads to the final round of 2015 in Coolum.

Jesse Madden – MXD – 3rd Overall – (2nd, 3rd):

“I trained really hard in the three weeks prior to round nine so it was pretty cool to see all that hard work pay off and get back on that podium,” he said.

“The track was crazy out there and it could catch you out pretty easy, but we had a good bike setup with the Suzuki, so I just stayed on the bike, and stayed smooth out there.

“I’m hoping to have another good round at Coolum, and hopefully that should get me some extra points and we’ll see how close we can get to third.

“Chris and the whole team put in a huge effort so it was nice to reward them with a podium, and the goal will be to do the same next round at Coolum.”

Chris Woods – Raceline Pirelli Suzuki Team Manager:

“It was a pretty good weekend for us – it was really cool to see Jesse see the opportunity and have a red hot go,” he said.

“Jesse has really turned himself around over the last couple of rounds, and that’s always nice to see when you put in such a big effort.

“We have so many sponsors who help us, and keep the team going so to repay them with results like this is, and be back on the podium is pretty cool.

“Now as the series moves on to Coolum, again it’s just moto by moto and we hjust need to keep the points coming in. We’re 35 points down on third, so we’ll put in two solid motos and do the calculations and see where we end up. He’s had a pretty red hot crack.”
