Current AMA Motocross Champion and AMA Supercross runner-up Chad Reed has been spotted riding a Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F at the official Kawasaki test track in California.

Reed will make the switch from Suzuki after just one season with the manufacturer in the U.S, opting to ride for Kawasaki in 2010, although the deal is reportedly yet to be officially signed.

The move comes just days following the Motocross of Nations in Italy last weekend, where Reed had his final ride on the RM-Z450 and had a best result of second behind world champion Antonio Cairoli in Moto 1.

It’s expected that Reed will ride as teammate to Ryan Villopoto in the factory team, and his Monster sponsorship will coincide with the title sponsorship of the Australasian Super X Championship if the deal if finalised.
