Title contenders split Under 19s wins on MX Central weekend.
GYTR Yamaha’s Wilson Todd was able to stretch his MXD championship lead as the 2015 MX Nationals series resumed at Raymond Terrace today.
Championship red plate holder Todd extended his points buffer with a comfortable opening moto victory in MXD, setting the pace early and comfortably pulling away at the front of the field for a 12-second win.
Behind him, Jayden Rykers had an impressive ride to second position, while Mitch Evans managed to make the distance upon return for third ahead of Connor Tierney and Jordan Hill. The top 10 results were completed by Toby Stevens, Zak Small, Bailey Coxon, Kaleb Barham and Lachlan Davis.
Husqvarna’s Tierney held on for the second MXD moto victory as the sun set on MX Central, crossing the line just half a second ahead of the charging Todd, however it was Todd who gained the overall by virtue of his 1-2 scorecard today.
Taking his second third-place of the day was the returning Mitch Evans, sealing him the final spot on the podium overall, after tying with Jayden Rykers.
Rykers was fourth in moto two, comfortably ahead of fifth-placed Toby Stevens. Positions six through 10 were filled by Jordan Hill, Jaiden Corigan, Lochie Latimer, Jesse Madden and Blake Parker.
In the standings Todd now has a slim 10-point gap on Tierney, while Rykers is third and a further 26 points behind the leading duo.
