Taree Motorcycle Club venue undergoes major upgrades.
Growing international interest and a $100,000 upgrade to Taree Motorcycle Club circuit will ensure the 2016 Motul Pirelli Troy Bayliss Classic on Saturday, 16 January, is the biggest in the event’s four-year history.
Reigning AMA Pro Grand National champion and 2015 Troy Bayliss Classic winner Jared Mees is confirmed to return and defend his title along with winner Troy Bayliss and 2013 winner Michael Kirkness.
The 2016 Motul Pirelli Troy Bayliss Classic will be the first major race meeting to be held at Taree Motorcycle Club following upgrades to the track surface, fencing and speakers made possible as a result a $100,000 funding grant from the NSW Government.
Event organiser Bayliss said the recent funding boost from the NSW Government for the Taree Motorcycle Club would ensure the event continued to grow.
“It is going to be another fantastic event,” Bayliss said.“The funding support from the NSW Government will help improve the facilities and ensure the Troy Bayliss Classic’s longevity as a major event for Taree and the motorcycle community Australia-wide
“I am also really excited to confirm that that Jared Mees will return to defend his title. Over the coming we will reveal our other international guests and I can confirm it will be the best line-up we have ever had. The team is working hard to ensure all visitors will be entertained with great racing and off track activities all day long.”
