Oz MX: Finals begin as business end of Junior Nationals looms

MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA:

Only two days of racing remain at the 2009 Honda Australian Junior Motocross Championship in Victoria, and with riders, representing every state and territory in the country, taking to the track spectators will be in for some action-packed competition.

Riders have now entered the business end of the Championship with qualifying now completed and finals set to continue until the event wraps up on Saturday 3 October.

With just under 700 riders, there were always going to be a few stand outs and so far the Maffra Sale Motorcycle Club track has roosted out a few.

Firstly, the two American riders, Kyle Peters and Joey Savatgy, who look set to leave a lasting impression on the Junior Motocross scene with their consistent finishes and near domination of the rest of the field in their respective classes.

Aussie riders Dylan Long, Shaun Redhead, Matthew Phillips, Jacob Wright and Dion Brillanti are our top qualifiers and are Australia’s best chance of holding off the American assault.

Meghan Rutledge looks set to defend her title in the Women’s class however New Zealand rider Courtney Duncan has continued to amaze dominating the female 85cc class but also qualifying top of the men’s 85cc class as well.

As the on-track action heats up, spectators are invited to attend and check out all the action and best of all, entry is completely free!

The Maffra Sale Motorcycle Club is located at the Newry Motocross Complex on Slaughter House Lane in Newry, Victoria.
