American to undergo further tests following last Sunday's crash.
Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team leader Ryan Villopoto will make a decision about his participation in this weekend’s MXGP of Europe at Valkenswaard in Holland after tests later this week.
Villopoto was injured when he crashed during the second race of the GP of Trentino last weekend. He has undergone medical examination this week and has been informed by the doctors that he suffered from a coccyx failure.
The 26-year-old American will make a decision together with the KRT team staff whether or not to race the fifth round of the FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship this weekend.
“The doctors told him that there is no risk of further injury if he rides his bike, but of course it will be painful,” explained KRT team manager François Lemariey. “We don’t want to put any pressure, Ryan will do a test and then we’ll take a decision for this weekend.”
Teammate Tyla Rattray, also injured last weekend, will definitely be riding his KX450F-SR factory Kawasaki at the Dutch track, the Monster Energy KRT outfit has confirmed.
