KAWASAKI RACING:

Broc Parkes’ team-mate Makoto Tamada has been advised not to ride at Magny-Cours this weekend after suffering a concussion last time out. He will be replaced at the French round by Sheridan Morais.  Sheridan has raced for the team as a replacement rider earlier this year, with a best result of 11th at his home track of Kyalami.

Broc has some good memories of the Magny-Cours circuit, and intends to leave the French round of the WSB championship on Sunday having had another raceday to remember. Broc had one top ten finish at the previous round in Imola last weekend, and improving on this will be the team’s primary aim for the Magny-Cours weekend.

Magny-Cours is a regular on the WSB calendar and is a known quantity to all, but it’s vast array of corner styles – many modelled on famous corners from other circuits around the word – make it a tricky circuit, with a couple of sections where exceptionally heavy braking is required.

Broc has scored two wins and two other podium finishes in his previous WSS visits to Magny-Cours, and hopes to translate his flair at this circuit to his Ninja ZX-10R Superbike.

Broc Parkes: “We need to make some forward steps at Magny-Cours next weekend. I had some really good times there on a Supersport bike so I like the place. I also think our bike will suit the circuit very well, so now it’s a case of making the bike work the best it can so we can finish as high as we can.”

Sheridan Morais: “I have competed with the team this year already, which should help us in practice and qualifying. I have ridden the Magny-Cours track before, in 2006 and 2007, and I like it. All the tracks are pretty good over there in Europe. I can’t wait to hop onto the Kawasaki Superbike again and I am all ready to go racing. I won the Supersport Championship this year for Kawasaki in South Africa and I am leading the Superbike championship as well, so I am all set to go in France.”
