Todd and Jake Smith to debut new off-road team this weekend.
Condobolin-based brothers Todd and Jake Smith have announced the Cairns Coconut Resort Honda Racing Team.
For 2015 the much anticipated Honda-backed team will launch their debut outfit at the opening round of the Enduro-X Nationals at the Archerfield Speedway in Queensland this weekend.
Following that, the team will contest stacked desert racing calendar – the Condo 750, Finke Desert Race, Hattah Desert Race, Yellow Mountain and potential international events which are yet to be confirmed.
“It’s been an exciting start to 2015, which has been full of new challenges and adventures for both Todd and I,” Jake commented. “I’m pleased to be back on the motorcycle doing what I love after my recent shoulder reconstruction.
“Building the race team has been challenging to be honest, starting from scratch and watching it come together has been quite rewarding, but a lot of hard work at the same time. It’s a great feeling for Todd and I to have complete control of how we want the team and bikes to be set up.
“We have a great group of people around us from friends, family, mechanics and sponsors which makes us both really excited for the year ahead.”
“I couldn’t be happier for the official launch of Smith Brothers Racing,” Todd added. “It’s been a longtime dream of ours which has come true. The team has great sponsors who really love motorsport in general which is what we are all about. The freedom to have the bikes set up to suit us is going to be a massive relief and an edge over our fellow competitors.
“I’m looking forward to something different with Jake and I competing in the Enduro-X championships, as well as the fast-approaching desert races. I believe the Enduro-X is going to be a great way to showcase our new look and prove to the motorcycle industry that Smith Brothers Racing is the real deal.”
Smith Brothers Racing is proud to announce major naming right sponsor Cairns Coconut Resort with much appreciation, as well as the backing from Honda Australia which has been a huge help in getting the team successfully off the ground.
