South Australian Brett Metcalfe will split his time between Monster Energy Supercross and the Canadian MX Nationals in 2015.

Metcalfe will contest select rounds of the prestigious supercross series in America before almost certainly heading north to join Leading Edge Kawasaki in the Canadian outdoors that he won in 2013.

“Next year we’ll be heading back up there for the [Canadian] Nationals,” Metcalfe explained. “We’ve been kind of jumping through a few hurdles and stuff. To be honest, I was really hoping to be able to stay in the US and pick up a ride here and kind of finish out here, but it looks like for next year I’ll be heading back up there for the Nationals.”

Metcalfe recently revealed he will contest a limited supercross schedule on the west coast at the beginning of the year, presenting the opportunity to prove his capabilities inside the stadiums for the first time since 2012.

“I just want to come back and enjoy supercross and do some racing,” he added. “I feel like I can do it. My best result in a 450 main was fourth – I think I had two of those, so I know I can do well. But my plan is really at this point not to race the whole championship, just maybe do the west coast rounds on a 450; come out, have fun and ride hard.

“I just want to do it again. It’s just something I desire to do right and I’m just going to go with it. I’m motivated to do it. Overall just excited about going back out there again and racing with the guys that I’ve been racing for the last 10 years.”
