Queenslander Brock Winston will line up at the final two rounds of the Monster Energy MX Nationals with direct support from Husqvarna, despite exiting the factory team midway through the Raymond Terrace round.

Winston made the decision to quit Craig Anderson’s factory-backed operation during round eight amidst a sea of controversy, but will now turn his attention to a privateer effort at Gladstone and Coolum to conclude the season.

“Nothing is really that much different for me,” Winston explained. “I’ve still got a sweet bike with the same race suspension under me and I’m excited to go to the races this weekend, which is always a big advantage. I’m keen to get out there – there’s only two more rounds so I’ve got to give it everything I’ve got.”

The continuation of Winston in the premier class at the final two rounds will enable him to race for a top 10 ranking in the standings, currently 10th overall in his rookie campaign. Last year he finished third in the MX2 title-chase riding a privateer KTM 250 SX.

Anderson meanwhile has enlisted New Zealand number three Brad Groombridge to take over the official Husqvarna MX1 entry, alongside MXD title threat Egan Mastin.
