Monster Energy Kawasaki will field Valentin Teillet at Maggiora this weekend in the 10th round of the 2014 MXGP World Championship.
Teillet will replace Gautier Paulin aboard the factory Kawasaki KX450F, as Paulin continues his recovery from a thumb injury sustained earlier in the season.
The team has called upon Teillet to compete alongside Steven Frossard, switching from the French championship where he has four wins in the Elite category.
“After the French Grand Prix Kawasaki offered me this opportunity and I’m of course delighted to race in Italy on the factory bike,” Teillet said. “I tested the bike last week and we didn’t really change the settings as I had immediately a great feeling.
“I knew that the team and the factory have worked a lot to develop the 450, but I was surprised to see how easy is this bike. I had a lot of fun to ride it. I will discover a new track as I never rode in Maggiora, but I will go there without any pressure, happy to have such a great opportunity.”
In a guest appearance for his regular Bud Racing Kawasaki team in France, Teillet finished 11th overall. He also contested the Monster Energy 250SX West Coast Championship, finishing 17th overall.
