Ernée to host the 'Olympics' of motocross next season.
Ernée will play host to the 2015 FIM Motocross of Nations, a press conference during last weekend’s MXGP of France has confirmed.
Youthstream, the FIM and French governing bodies have announced that Ernée will host the annual event for the first time since a decade earlier in 2005.
“We are pleased to have the 2015 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations back in France and especially in Ernée,” said FFM president Jacques Bolle. “Everyone can remember the FIM Motocross of Nations from 2005 which took place in Ernée, and we plan to make this one bigger and better and we are confident it will be a huge event.”
Youthstream director David Luongo anticipates next year’s event will be a landmark event in its history.
“I have no doubt the 2015 FIM Motocross of Nations in Ernèè will be a great success,” he said. “I am very happy with the relationship we have with the federation and the organizer in Ernée, and we know that France is a very important country for motocross.
“There is a big following in France as we can see today with a lot of fans already here in St Jean d’Angely to watch the qualifying and we know that tomorrow will be even better and that Motocross of Nations in Ernée next year will be even better again.”
Glen Helen in the US was initially penciled in as 2015 host, but it will now host the 2017 running. The Californian venue most recently hosted rounds of MXGP in 2010 and 2011, before returning to the American Pro Motocross schedule for 2014.
The 2014 running of the MXoN will take place at Kegums in Latvia on 27-28 September.
