Jed Beaton announced as Jay Wilson replacement in 2014.
GYTR Yamaha has announced that Joel Dinsdale will be joined by Jed Beaton in the MXD Under 19s ranks for 2014.
Dinsdale, 17, returns for his second year with the Queensland-based team, looking to capitalise on experience gained as a rookie this year.
“I’m really looking forward to 2014 and so happy to be back on my bike and riding again,” Dinsdale said. “I learned a lot in 2013 and I now understand the importance of each and every race.
“Sure, I want to win races and will try every time I pull up to a start gate but to win a championship I need points every time I go on the track. I want to be fast, but I need to be smarter.”
For Beaton, next year will be a learning campaign fresh from winning the Australian 13-14 Years 125cc Motocross Championship.
“I was so excited when I got the phone call and offered the ride with the GYTR Yamaha team,” 16-year-old Beaton said.
“My brother Ross raced for the team a few years ago so I already know all the guys in the team and I know just how hard they work, so I couldn’t say yes fast enough.
“I already have the new 2014 YZ250F and love it and have started work on being a better rider next season.
“I know it’s a big step from racing Juniors to MXD but with this team behind me and all the experience they have, I just want to do the best I can for them and keep climbing the ladder.”
GYTR Yamaha’s 2013 Under 19s supercross champion Jay Wilson will step up to MX2 with Serco Yamaha next year.
