Motorex KTM crew chief Danny Apro will head the team’s operations during this weekend’s final round of the 2013 Australian Supercross Championship at Toowomba, Queensland.

Apro will fill in for the team’s regular manager Rob Twyerould, who is recovering from major injuries sustained in a road cycling incident including a fractured femur and hip.

Daniel McCoy will be the team’s lone rider to conclude the season, as Kirk Gibbs continues to recuperate from back and rib injuries from his incident in the Murray Bridge round.

“Like all of us I was pretty shocked to find out how much damage Rob had done – he goes pretty hard on that bike of his!” Apro commented.

“Daniel’s been up in Queensland for three weeks practicing and racing and he’s been going really well, so we hope we can help him really finish on a high.

“Checking the forecast, it’s looking like it could end up being wet, and I don’t know if it will be the same soil as last year but if so it can get pretty greasy. A bit of rain and it could be anybody’s race in those conditions – that means it could work with us or against us.

“If it gets really muddy we’ll go to our ‘mud setting’ with the motor, tyres and suspension.”

The weekend will be almost certainly be McCoy’s final appearance with the team, which announced it has signed Ford Dale to compete alongside the returning Kirk Gibbs for 2014 (click here for details).
