100% RACING:
A heavyweight alliance has been formed to take on the 2010 Australian Motocross Nationals and National Super Cross Series. Multiple motocross champion Craig Anderson has formed a partnership with respected West Australian Team Owner Lee Redmond to form 100% Racing.
Redmond, a former international speedway rider, has spent recent years as owner-operator of the Redmond Motorsport/Berry Sweet Strawberries race team and has become highly regarded as someone with a nose for success – often on a fraction of the budget of the opposition.
Anderson has stamped himself as one of Australia’s most successful motocross riders. He is a multiple state and 12 time national champion on home soil, he has been a winner on the ultra tough American AMA motocross scene and just recently promoted a round of the 2009 Australian Motocross Nationals in his home town Lake Macquarie. Now Anderson has achieved a goal that he has longed for – to run his own race team.
“I’ve been wanting to do this for a few years now”, said Anderson, “but while it felt right in some ways there was always something holding me back, but this time I know it’s the right thing. My knowledge and skills as a competitor and my first hand experience as a race promoter makes the timing just perfect to link up with Lee as a fellow team owner.”
“Lee and I have been friends for a couple of years now and I’ve really admired what he’s done on the national scene, particularly being based in Western Australia”.
“He’s not afraid to get his hands dirty and knows how to get the job done in a straight forward and enthusiastic manner”.
“He’s raced at a high level in speedway and was also a very competent motocross rider, so he has the experience to understand what we, as riders, go through”.
Meanwhile, Redmond is over the moon to have someone like Anderson saddling up as a co-team owner and the team’s top rider.
“Craig is a great rider and he is respected by everyone in the industry. He is keen to not only put 100% into his race events but to be innovative with the team off the racetrack as well. We have some great ideas between us and this new partnership gives us the energy to bring those ideas to reality”.
“I’m looking forward to going to every race with a realistic chance of winning and I’m sure potential sponsors will share my optimism”.
“We hope to announce our manufacturer soon and once that is done we will set about tying up some additional sponsorship to ensure we have the equipment and budget to get to the front and stay there”.
“We will follow the national series and pick up some major state races and other marquee events that fit into the schedule,” he concluded.
100% Racing – Craig Anderson and Lee Redmond – leading the pack on and off the track.
