International Entertainment Group (IEG) today announced the partnership with Rockwell Watches Australia, distributed by Airstyle Imports, with product to be awarded to the championship’s top-performing riders on a round-by-round and end-of-season basis.
The ‘Fastest Man’ in the Pro Open and Pro Lites class at each round will be awarded a Rockwell Cartel watch, while the overall champions will be awarded with the Gold Carter (Pro Open) and Commander Elite (Pro Lite) watch.
The top three riders in the Australian Junior Supercross Championship will be in on the action, each awarded a Rockwell Assassin watch.
Brand owner Carlos Nuno recognised the reach and popularity of action sports in Australia and was pleased to confirm the relationship.
“Action Sports has always had a home in Australia and particularly Supercross,” said Nuno. “We are excited about the reach the Australian Supercross has to our customer base. “We look forward to the Australian Supercross season and hope the relationship between Rockwell Watches and the Australian Supercross Championship will last a long, long time.”
IEG general manager Phil Harper looks forward to a proactive relationship with the established brand.
“We are excited to announce that Rockwell Watches will be sponsoring the 2013 Australian Supercross Championship,” said Harper. ”They are a brand new product to the Australian market and we and we look to working with them to build exposure for their high-quality timepieces.”
Rockwell sponsor a number of US Motocross and Supercross stars including Jeremy McGrath, Davi Millsaps, Mike Alessi, Justin Barcia, Jake Weimer and Broc Tickle, amongst others.
The opening round of the Australian Supercross Championship will play out on 13-15 September on a purpose-built track at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway.
