Following a weekend off, the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, makes its return this weekend at Washougal for the eighth round of the series.

Washington native Ryan Villopoto leads the 450 Class charge aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki. The former series champion is yet to take an overall win at his home round, expect the current series leader to be trying his best to change that.

Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey, the reigning 450 Class champion, currently sits second overall in points and has won five-straight races at Washougal across both classes.

Honda Muscle Milk’s Justin Barcia rounds out the top three in the premier class. The rookie is yet to contest the Washougal round in the 450 Class, although he was last year’s 250 Class winner.

Australia’s Chad Reed sits 12th overall in the championship chase after seven rounds. The TwoTwo Motorsports owner and rider took the 2009 450 Class overall win at Washougal. Fellow Aussie Michael Byrne currently sits 22nd overall in points aboard his BTO Sports KTM.

In the 250 Class it’s the German import Ken Roczen who leads the title chase. The Red Bull KTM rider has put together a strong season to date, but he is yet to earn himself a Washougal overall win in his career.

Holding down the runner-up position is GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac. The Colorado native holds a pair of overall wins with four rounds remaining.

Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin sits third overall in the championship standings, the former MX2 world champion has two wins to his name this season in the 250 Class.

The most recent 250 Class winner to still be contesting the small-bore category is Blake Baggett. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider took the overall win in 2011 and currently sits fourth overall in points.

Australia’s Jackson Richardson will line up at this weekend’s event. The privateer Honda rider from Queensland holds 21st overall in points after seven rounds of racing.
