Round six of the Monster Energy MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, is underway at Appin’s Macarthur Motorcycle Club in New South Wales.

In clear conditions and a prime-prepared circuit, Matt Moss was the early pace-setter with the fastest lap of the day to date in regular qualifying at 1m42.938.

However it was Motul Pirelli Suzuki teammate Cody Cooper who took charge with the fastest time in GoPro Super Pole and the five points that go with it.

Todd Waters made a successful return to the bike less than two weeks following collarbone surgery in seventh, while Gareth Swanepoel made his anticipated Australian debut.

The MX2 session was topped by series leader Luke Styke for much of the session, however Carlton Dry Honda’s Josh Cachia stormed to the top of the charts in the closing moments.
