TwoTwo Motorsports’ Chad Reed has been confirmed as a contender in this year’s annual Monster Energy Cup at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
The Australian contested his first Monster Energy Cup event in 2012 and finished fourth overall after returning from injury.
Reed is a fan of the unique event which features three main events and obstacles such as the ‘Joker Lane’, a section of track which riders must use at one point during the race.
“Monster Energy Cup, it’s awesome,” said Reed. “Last year was my first time doing it and there was a unique track, the way they did the start was a lot of fun.”
With an extended break from the Monster Energy Supercross series, Reed looks forward to the October event which features a Supercross-style layout and offers up a one million dollar prize for winning all-three main events.
“For me Vegas is awesome, it’s a lot of fun,” he added. “We’ve had some time off from May all the way through to October, so it’s just exciting to be back at Supercross again and a million bucks on the line doesn’t ever hurt.
The 2013 Monster Energy Cup will take place on 19 October in Las Vegas. Click here for more information on the event.
