Ryan Villopoto leads the 450 Class charge into this weekend’s Budds Creek round of the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing.

This weekend the current points leader will be shooting to become just the third rider to earn overall wins in both the 250 and 450 classes.

Following Villopoto in the championship chase is Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey. The defending series champion also took a 1-1 sweep of the Budds Creek event in 2012, expect him to be challenging for the overall win once again.

Third overall in the premier class title chase is rookie Justin Barcia. The Honda Muscle Milk rider has not competed at Budds Creek aboard the 450 in his career to date.

Australia’s Chad Reed is the only international rider to win a 450 Class overall at Budds Creek, the TwoTwo Motorsports rider currently sits 17th overall in points while battling health issues throughout the early rounds.

Fellow Australian Michael Byrne will line up in the 450 Class, the BTO Sports KTM rider currently sits 23rd overall in points on return from injury.

In the 250 Class it’s Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen who leads the points chase into round five. The German rider took the runner-up spot at this same event last year.

Sitting 15 points behind Roczen in second place is GEICO Honda’s Eli Tomac. The Colorado native finished fourth overall in 2012 behind former teammate Barcia.

Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin is on a winning streak currently, carrying two-straight wins into Budds Creek. The former MX2 FIM Motocross World Champion took fifth overall in 2012.

Last year’s winner of the event, Blake Baggett, currently sits fourth overall in the series standings. Baggett is currently battling a wrist injury in a bid to defend his 2012 250 Class title.

Australia’s Jackson Richardson will battle the best at Budds Creek aboard his privateer Honda. Richardson currently sits 20th overall in points.
