In a bid to create a new and improved multi-purpose motorsport facility, Motorcycling New South Wales (MNSW) has taken control of operations at the Nowra Motorcycle Club at Yerriyong in New South Wales.
Following months of planning and negotiations with the Nowra Motorcycle Club, previously known as the Nowra Districts Motorcycle Club, president of MNSW Christine Tickner is please to take the first step in their new venture.
“We are extremely pleased to take the first and very important step in the construction of our multi-purpose motorsport facility,” said Tickner.
“This would not have been possible without the assistance and shared vision of the executive, life members and members of the Nowra Motorcycle Club.”
Club president Wayne Mather is confident that MNSW will take the venue to the next level and will continue to work closely alongside Tickner and her team in the future.
“The club would have not entered into this agreement with Motorcycling NSW if we did not think it was in the best interest of the sport,” said Mather. “We are confident that MNSW’s plans will take the venue to the next level and beyond.
“As club president I look forward to working closely with MNSW in effecting this positive change both now and into the future.”
Whilst the admission prices and membership fees will remain unchanged under the new operators, the venue will commence a process of improvement starting with relatively small changes such as name, logo, website and social media platforms.
The project will continue on with major upgrades to the clubhouse, track and overall facility that has long-served as a venue for the annual New South Wales State Motocross titles and the relatively young East Coast MX series.
The club will continue to call the venue home for all their competition meetings operating under their revamped Nowra Motorcycle Club title.
