Fresh from his maiden overall victory in the MXD ranks of the Monster Energy MX Nationals, GYTR Yamaha rising star Joel Dinsdale is glad to see the team’s strategy beginning to pay off.
Dinsdale was dominant at Broadford last weekend with a 1-1 results, building a three-race win streak after also claiming the moto two win at Wonthaggi.
The 16-year-old from Mackay was relentless in his charge during the Broadford round, looking to continue that same form through the second part of the season.
“Today was awesome and the best feeling to win at a high profile event like the MX Nationals,” Dinsdale commented. “The track was tough to ride and it could hurt you if you tried to be too aggressive or over- rode it.
“We have a bit of a plan going and when it all goes right and I carry it out, the results seem to come, so I reckon we will stick with it and try and keep this momentum going for the remainder of the championship.”
Dinsdale has now climbed to fourth in the standings with five rounds remaining, recovering from as far down as 13th after the season-opener in April.
Teammate Jay Wilson went 7-16 for 11th overall, now seventh in the standings following a frustrating season to date.
