Runaway Monster Energy MX Nationals MX1 series leader Todd Waters will undergo scans this week to determine whether or not he’ll be able to line up at this weekend’s Broadford round in Victoria on Sunday.

The Motorex KTM rider crashed during the fourth round of the Sunshine State Motocross Championships at Leyburn in Queensland on Sunday, suffering an injury scare after a hard knock to the head during the afternoon Pro Lites moto.

Waters was knocked unconscious in the incident, which took place in the Lites race where he was campaigning a 250 SX two-stroke alongside his regular Open class duties.

“I hit my head pretty hard and was knocked out, but I should be fine,” Waters explained when contacted by MotoOnline.com.au this afternoon.

“I was riding the 250 two-stroke and I won the first moto, then in the second one I got into the lead, but highsided and landed backwards, which caused the head knock.”

Waters will now undergo scans either this afternoon or tomorrow morning in order to gain clearance from Suzuki RACESAFE ahead of the Broadford national this weekend.

Stay tuned for more when we have it later this week.
