Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Adam Monea is maintaining a positive attitude as he heads into this weekend’s Murray Bridge round two of the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals.

Making his MX1 debut at the Raymond Terrace season opener, Monea showed flashes of brilliance and battled with the best of the premier class.

Although the Victorian ran up front in moto one, he faded back to sixth place and then lost all of his tear-offs in moto two which hindered his performance – Monea wrapped up his debut with a ninth overall.

“I’m not really pumped with my results but I’m taking a lot of positives away,” said Monea. “I’m pleased with my speed, I know that I can run up the front and I’m confident heading into the rest of the season. ”

Monea is excited to have Raymond Terrace out of the way and looks forward to showing what he can do on a track that suits his style this weekend.

“I always believed that this was going to be the toughest track for me,” he added. “So I’m looking forward to a track that suits me more so I can get up there.”

Monea will make his second start in the premier class this weekend at Murray Bridge on 28 April.
