INTERNATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP:
Shannon Johnson’s welcome return to competition at the recent Queensland round of the ASBK brought not only success, but also reward, as he was presented this week with two sets of Dunlop race tyres for being the top Supersport privateer.
In conjunction with Dunlop Australia, the privateer reward was initiated at the start of the 2009 season by ASBK promoters International Entertainment Group (IEG).
“Thanks to Dunlop, this new privateer reward provides the highest place Supersport and Superbike privateer at each round a set of Dunlop race tyres.” explains IEG Director Yarrive Konsky.
“This award, as well as the recently announced Superstock Cup initiative, is testament to our commitment to provide ongoing support for the many privateers competing at the elite level of our sport.”
Fit, fast and fanatical Supersport rider Shannon Johnson has not only made a welcome return to the ASBK paddock, he has put the Superstock field on notice after coming third overall aboard the Pro Con CBR600RR.
“I think it’s great that both IEG & Dunlop have offered this great award. As a rider in a privately run team these extra little bonuses really help!” said privateer rider Shannon Johnson.
“It will give us a chance to focus our resources on other areas to improve our performance and hopefully improve our position on the race track”.
As the top privateer at the Queensland double round, Shannon will put his two new sets of Dunlop race tyres to good use at the coming round of the Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championships at Eastern Creek (August 7-9th).Where Eagles Dare release
