Jake Moss’s recent hiring of former Australian motocross champion Dan Reardon as his trainer has proven to be a wise move for the SX Open class contender.
The Campbell Mining/Troy Lee Designs/Maxima Honda backed rider says Reardon’s program is exactly what he needs to stay in peak condition as he contends in the 2012 Terex Australian Supercross Championships.
“The program is 100% what I need it to be – I have my own motocross coach, my Dad, and now I am pretty much full-time with Dan,” said Moss.
“He has been there and been very successful, he knows exactly how and what to train and knows how important the conditioning side of the sport is.
“The program varies so much, it keeps it interesting and keeps the body guessing and forces it to adapt and improve.”
Moss feels confident in Reardon’s training schedule and knows the rest is up to him when he hits the track.
“I’ve always done a lot of fitness work but not to this level, it makes me feel confident when Dan tells me that he can look at the guys lined up next to me and knows I have done more than they have,” he added.
“The rest is up to me – it’s a short season and the results have to be there every night, and I’m hoping that I can be back on the podium at Toowoomba and moving back up the order.”
Moss currently sits equal third on the SX Open points ladder, sharing the position with CDR Yamaha rider Lawson Bopping.
