After a solid SX-Lites finish at Dubbo’s round one of the 2012 Terex Australian Supercross Championships, Ryan Marmont is planning to build on this result heading into this weekend’s round two.

Marmont, JDR/KTM Factory Racing’s lone rider for the 2012 series, scored himself a fifth place finish in the traditional 20-lap main event.

The Wollongong native’s top five overall finish will serve as a solid base to quickly build momentum off in this short four round series.

“It was a tough night in some ways, my start made it very hard for myself, but I think I can take a lot out of it,” Marmont said. “I will take what positives I can out of this weekend and then hopefully be where I should be at Phillip Island – up the front.

Marmont and his JDR/KTM Factory Racing crew will continue their hard work in lead-up to this weekend’s Phillip Island event where the 27-year-old expects to improve his result.

“We’ll keep testing during the two-week break before the Island, keep working hard and I plan to improve on all the little things I did wrong at Dubbo,” he added. “If we can do that then it should put us in a good position for the Phillip Island round.”
