Australian Motocross number two Todd Waters is aiming to remain focused on his FIM Motocross of Nations debut appearance before making any decisions on where he will go for the 2013 season.
Australian Motocross number two Todd Waters will remain focused on his FIM Motocross of Nations debut appearance before making any decisions on where he will go for the 2013 season.
Currently riding for the Motul Pirelli Suzuki outfit, it is believed that Waters is fielding offers from both his current team and KTM’s new-look factory outfit for the new year.
However all leading factory teams do have positions available for 2013 at this point, which leaves the door open for multiple opportunities with various manufacturers.
Waters has confirmed that he has offers from manufacturers other than Suzuki, but is adamant that the MXoN event comes first before any decisions will be made.
“I’ve been trying to keep it low key just because I’ve been trying to concentrate on the des Nations,” Waters told MotoOnline. “I’ve definitely got a few things in the pipeline at the moment, I’ve spoken to Suzuki and they are working to put something together, plus there are a few other brands.”
Waters is now the hottest Australian prospect in the premier class for 2013, and the young Queenslander sits in the box seat to take control of the Australian competition, but not before tackling the infamous MXoN competition.
“It’s going to be interesting to see what direction we go in, but at the moment my sole focus is the des Nations,” Waters added. “Hopefully we can do well over there… we’ll just wait and see what happens.”
Waters will make his MXoN debut for Australia at Lommel in Belgium on 30 September, along with Aussie teammates CDR Yamaha’s Lawson Bopping and Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing’s Luke Styke.
