The stage is now set for an exciting showdown at the final round of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in Sydney, after Thomas Pages took his maiden X-Fighters win at Munich’s penultimate round of the series on Saturday.
Pages laid down three of the biggest non-backflip tricks in the sport, winning the event over Danny Torres on the biggest European course ever built.
The Frenchman pulled off the ‘Special Flip’ off the seat of his bike, the ‘Volt’ that left him spinning in mid-air above his bike and the ‘Flair’ – turning a 540 degrees in mid-air.
Pages was able to move himself into a tied points lead position with New Zealand’s Levi Sherwood who suffered a sub-par fifth place finish, after being knocked out by Pages in the quarter-final round.
Pages is now even on points at 235 with Sherwood heading into Cockatoo Island’s season finale on 6 October.
Torres, who back-to-back second places in Madrid and Munich, is now third with 185 points and Javier Villegas of Chile is in the hunt in fourth place.
