The BGC Contracting King of the Cross motocross event will be held on the weekend of the 4-5 of August at the Southern Cross Motorcycle Club, in Western Australia.
Headlining the event will be both Jay and Ryan Marmont, along with former british motocross champion Brad Anderson.
The hard-pack circuit is different to many of the tracks in Western Australia, unlike the majority of tracks which are sandy by nature.
In 2012 each race will have a Holeshot award to the rider who wins the drag race to the first corner in each moto.
Jay Marmont will be returning to the King of the Cross hoping to score his fourth event win. But with the likes of Anderson, Ryan Marmont and local sand specialist Dean Porter on hand, this will be no easy feat.
The event also caters for the junior riders who will compete on Saturday, while the seniors will do battle on Sunday.
There will be a minimum of 450 riders competing over the two days, with the seniors chasing a share of the massive $45,000 in prize money over the weekend.
The ‘King of the Cross’ for 2012 will take home $10,000 for his weekends work. This year the meeting will also be catering for Pro Lites, Pro Open, Clubmen, Vets, the second round of the Women’s State MX Championship and Quads.
Camping will be available at the grounds, the bar and canteen will also be open all weekend for refreshments. For any further information head to www.sxmcc.com.au.
