Just weeks after his recent announcement that 2012 will be his last season as a professional motocross rider, JDR/KTM Factory Racing’s Dan Reardon put on an impressive showing at Appin’s round eight of the Monster Energy MX Nationals.
Reardon was confident and fast on the hard pack Bellbird circuit, with his most impressive performance coming in moto one where he motored his way to a second place finish.
The Queensland native then backed up that result up with eighth in moto two and concluded the round with a fifth in the third and final 30-minute moto of the day.
With bike changes made throughout the weekend, Reardon felt comfortable on the track and says he could not have asked for anything better at this point in time.
“It was a good day and I was pretty happy,” Reardon said. “We made some changes during the weekend and they felt good, so if I’m comfortable then I ride well.
“The track was hard and fast today, but overall I’m happy and couldn’t ask for anything better right now.”
The 2007 Australian motocross champion was a solid fifth overall at Appin in the premier MX1 class, heading into round nine of the series Reardon is now ranked eight in the points chase.
