The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team have scored a double victory with Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings dominating at Russia's round 11 of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Semigorje.
The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team have scored a double victory with Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings dominating at Russia’s round 11 of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Semigorje.
In the MX1 class Cairoli bounced back from a rough streak in previous rounds to sweep both motos on the day, earning his 49th grand prix victory to date.
Behind Cairoli it was Rockstar Energy Suzuki’s Clement Desalle. The Belgian rider used 3-2 moto score to wrap up the second overall position on the podium.
In third position rounding out the podium was Cairoli’s Red Bull KTM Factory Racing teammate Ken De Dycker. Solid starts and consistent 2-3 moto finishes earned the Belgian his podium position.
Cairoli maintains his series lead in the premier MX1 division, over Desalle who sits 20 points behind. In third place overall is Christophe Pourcel of France on his Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit ride.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings took out the MX2 overall in dominant fashion over arch-rival Tommy Searle of the Team Floride Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit team.
Herlings swept both motos, while Searle and Herlings’ teammate Jeremy van Horebeek traded the runner-up position in the motos.
At the end of the day it was Searle who earned the second spot on the podium with 3-2 moto scores. Van Horebeek’s 2-3 moto finishes saw him round out the podium in third position.
Herlings exits the Russian round maintaining his MX2 points lead by 49 points over Searle. Van Horebeek rounds out the top three in the standings sitting 61 points back from leader Herlings.
