JDR/KTM Factory Racing will welcome MX2 contender Brenden Harrison back to the team when the seventh round of the MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, takes place at Horsham in Victoria on Sunday, 15 July.
Harrison has sat out the entire season to date after undergoing pre-season corrective surgery, but will return this weekend in a bid to gain vital seat time in race conditions before the Australian Supercross series commences in October.
With limited time on his KTM 250 SX-F had so far in 2012, Harrison is aware that his return to racing won’t be a simple one in a field featuring the nation’s top riders, but he’s confident that the experience will count in his favour.
“I still feel that I have a little bit more left in the tank, but there is nothing better than race practice,” Harrison explained. “You can practice all you want, but you’re never race fit, so I’m really looking forward to getting back into it.
“I’m just looking for some good starts and to keep it fun. I’m sure if I have fun and ride like I know I can, I should be up where I want to be.”
Harrison was previously scheduled to return at Hervey Bay’s sixth round, but opted to give his injuries an additional two weeks to gain fitness.
