Andrew Short has scored the first Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross podium for his L&Mc Racing team at round three of the series at Colorado’s Thunder Valley.
The Colorado native who now resides in Texas took out 7-2 moto scores for third overall on the day. After serving up the teams first-ever AMA Supercross win at Seattle this year, Short has proven to be a great choice for the newly formed team.
After going down in moto one due to an issue with his brakes and finishing in seventh, Short was not expecting to land himself on the podium for the 450 Class overall.
“I didn’t think after the first moto that podium would be possible, but I got another good start and I rode a lot better,” said Short. I feel like my bike was set up a little bit better. I was able to turn it and was a lot more dialed. I had fun.
“I love this place. It’s always been special to me, the track, fans. I grew up here, so it’s really special to me. Of all the races, I want to do good here.”
Short currently holds down fifth place in the 450 Class standings, with three rounds down and nine to go. The series will head to High Point Raceway on 9 June for round four of the series.
