Christophe Pourcel and Tommy Searle took their Kawasaki's to the top at the Honda Grand Prix of Brazil, after heavy rain left the riders with a sloppy circuit to contend with.
Christophe Pourcel and Tommy Searle took their Kawasakis to the top at the Honda Grand Prix of Brazil, after heavy rain left the riders with a sloppy circuit to contend with in the fourth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Frenchman Pourcel took top honours in the MX1 class overall, impressively winning moto one by more than one minute. In second it was David Philippaerts and Kevin Strijbos rounding out the podium in third.
Australia’s Dean Ferris had an impressive moto ride, sitting in second place at one point, before an unfortunate crash near the 30-minute mark. Ferris then went down again in the mud and finished up in 11th place.
In the MX2 class Searle pushed through the slippery conditions to take the victory, good starts proved vital to the British riders success.
Behind Searle were two first-time podium riders, Christophe Charlier took home second while Jose Butron stood in third place at the end of the day.
The World MX Championships will now head to Saint Jean d’Angely in France for round six of racing on 3 June.
