Motorex KTM Off Road Racing’s Brad Williscroft claimed a record sixth consecutive victory in Darwin’s Kamfari Mud Race in the Northern Territory on Sunday, 6 May.
Williscroft returned to racing from his team management role to capture his seventh career win, adding the past six wins to his first taken out back in 2004.
The 2012 edition was another spectacular race for Williscroft, riding the specifically prepared 500 EXC from NT Motorcycle Centre to a dominant win by almost 20 minutes after four hours of competition.
“I managed to get six straight wins up there, which is a new record after I equaled it on five last year,” Williscroft explained. “The track was the same as last year, but in reverse, and there were a couple of really tricky sections that could catch you out.
“The 500 EXC was faultless. It was the first time I’ve ridden a fuel-injected bike at Kamfari and it was perfect for the entire four-hour duration. I was second off the start and moved into the lead on the first lap and then managed to pull away after a battle early in the race. I rode my own race, stayed focused and made sure I didn’t do anything silly.”
The Motorex KTM Off Road Racing Team will next contest the seventh and eighth rounds of the Australian Off-Road Championship on 19-20 May at Broadford in Victoria.
