Injured New Zealander Ben Townley has sent out an update via Twitter regarding his injuries sustained at Coonabarabran’s Monster Energy MX Nationals round on Saturday.
The Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing rider suffered a severe hip dislocation during practice at Goanna Tracks and will undergo surgery to completely repair his injuries.
“For everyone asking, my hip is back in place, but I need surgery to repair it as it’s a bit of a mess. Will update when there is more news,” Townley wrote via his Twitter account @BT1zero1.
It’s a devastating turn of events for the former MX2 World Motocross and AMA Supercross East Coast Lites Champion, just weeks out from joining TwoTwo Motorsports in the 2012 AMA outdoors.
Townley’s future remains unconfirmed at this stage, as does the plans of Chad Reed’s TwoTwo team considering Townley’s untimely injuries.
MotoOnline.com.au once again wishes BT all the best in his recovery – get well soon mate!
