Round two of the Monster Energy MX National’s being held at Coonabarabran, NSW, this weekend will see the MXN Veterans classes hit the track.
The Vets are broken into two divisions, Over 30 years and Over 40 years, the 2012 championship will be run over two-rounds, with the final round taking place at Coolum, QLD, in conjunction with the MXN final round.
Current Over 30 years champion Cameron Taylor will be back to begin his title defence this weekend on his Geoff Taylor Motorcycles backed machine.
Taylor is ready to go and looking forward to getting out on the national track in front of a big crowd.
“I’m really looking forward to this event,” said Taylor. “It’s a track that I have heard a lot about but I’m yet to race and the chance to get back onto a national track in front of a big crowd is always good.”
New Zealands Darryl King will also return this year to defend his Over 40 years title, King has already won the New Zealand MX2 Championship this year and looks to be a favourite to take the MXN Vets title back home for 2012.
King raced round one at Conondale in the MX1 class, suffering a heavy fall and sidelining himself for the day, but he will be back at 100 percent for the Vets opener at round two this weekend, 14-15 April.
