Pirelli MX2-specific Scorpion tyre sweeps podium on debut

The new MX2-specific 110/85-19 Scorpion MX Mid Soft tyre from Pirelli has swept the podium on debut at its first Australian national race meeting.

Pirelli now have a 250 four-stoke specific tyre to gain the most from your machine.

Pirelli claimed a superb clean-sweep of the Monster Energy MX Nationals MX2 podium at Conondale, introducing a new specific size Lites tyre for the round.

The new MX2-spec 110/85-19 MX Mid Soft Scorpion tyre has been developed specifically for MX2 250cc four-Stroke machines, to create a larger footprint than the traditional 100/90-19 for optimized grip.

It also features a 10% reduction in weight for this new size for improved handling and increased acceleration compared to the 110/90-19 size.

This new size also has a reduced rotating mass for improved handling over jumps and better damping on landings.

Serco Metal Mulisha Yamaha’s Kirk Gibbs took the first win on Pirelli’s newest size Mid Soft 32 tyre.

Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Ford Dale and Gibbs’ teammate Luke Styke also used the new size, meaning first, second and third in the MX2 class were all on the new Pirelli Scorpion MX tyre.

The new 110/85-19 Scorpion MX Mid Soft 32 Retails for $119, and is available now in store at Pirelli Stockists Australia wide.

Pirelli also swept the MX1 class proceedings with wins in all three motos thanks to Carlton Dry Honda’s Ben Townley, while Motul Pirelli Suzuki’s Todd Waters was third on another Pirelli-equipped machine.
