CDR Yamaha’s Lawson Bopping says that after reflecting on his Conondale performance, he will need to refine his race day plan coming into round two.
Bopping laid down a solid performance, taking a sixth overall in the MX1 class, but says he did not take in enough fluids and food throughout the day, resulting in a tough final moto for the day.
“Reflecting on the day, I probably didn’t take in enough fluids and food between the motos,” said Bopping. “It was quite warm and I worked pretty hard in the opening two motos and as a result felt a bit flat in the last one.
“But that’s something the team and I already have spoken about and ensure we have under control at the next round.”
Bopping will now have a weekend off to refine his race day plan, before round two commences at Coonabarabran, NSW, 14-15 April.
