Red Bull KTM's Ken Roczen had a night to forget at the Indianapolis AMA East Coast Supercross Lites round including a staggered start and a costly mistake.
Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen will have to keep pressing on if he’s to capture his first win of the AMA East Coast Supercross Lites season.
As the Lites main event set off in Indianapolis over the weekend, Roczen was out front in the lead before a downed rider caused the red flag to be raised, creating a staggered restart for the first time in history.
After the restart, Roczen made a costly mistake, going down while leading and damaging his bike, resulting in a trip to the pits for repairs, finishing up the race in 19th place.
“I’m not sure what to say about tonight, it was a crazy night,” said Roczen.
“I haven’t crashed in a main event all season and I am really bummed that my only main event crash came while I was leading.
“I know I am riding well right now so I will just regroup and hope to get my first season win in Toronto.”
Roczen sits fifth overall in the points chase with four rounds of East Coast Lites racing left.
