JDR/J-Star/KTM’s Matt Moss continued his mid-season form at the fifth round of the AMA Supercross series with a solid seventh place finish in the main event at Anaheim II.
After a first turn crash in his heat race, Moss pushed through the pack and took the final transfer spot in to the main event.
Moss had a good jump off the start in the main event, but stalled his bike in the first corner. Moss rejoined the race, only to go down with another rider in the next corner, causing him to start the race from last position.
Moss quickly set to work and began to make up time on the riders ahead of him. At the halfway point he had climbed into the top 10. From there he continued to ride solid laps and eventually worked his way into seventh position.
“This is definitely not where I wanted to finish tonight,” remarked Moss. “But after suffering a poor start, I am happy with how I rode through the pack and the passes I was able to make. Next week I need to improve my starts and battle in the front of the pack at the beginning of the race.”
Moss now sits 10th overall in points after five of eight rounds in the AMA Supercross West Coast Lites series.
