American Josh Hansen will compete for the Woodstock Honda Thor Racing team at the next round of the MX Nationals, set to be held at Murray Bridge in South Australia on 14 June.
Hansen has been signed by Yarrive Konsky’s factory Honda team to pilot the CRF-450R for the one round at least after his name was listed on the entry forms for the event, with expectations that he’ll continue with the team for the remainder of the Australian Motocross Championship.
After that it is believed that Hansen’s performance will be reviewed and he’ll be taken into consideration for the Super X season, with Supercross being the strong point of Hansen’s career to date.
The 25-year-old tied on points for the overall victory in the 2005 AMA East Coast Regional Supercross Lites Championship, only losing to Grant Langston on a count back.
Hansen most recently rode in the 450 class of AMA Supercross for Carey Hart’s Rockstar Energy Hart and Huntington Honda team, but left the team in March due to the personal reasons after the deaths of close friends Anthony Hart and Jeremy Lusk according to a press release issued by the team.
