Tommy Hahn has revealed that he will compete as a privateer in 2012, riding Honda’s CRF450R during the AMA season.
Hahn rode for MotoConcepts this season aboard a Yamaha, finishing 17th in supercross and 13th in the outdoors.
Late last week he announced via Twitter that he’ll be going it alone for next season after failing to secure a competitive seat just one month out from the season opener.
“Doing my own deal on a Honda! Thanks to Altus Motorsports for bikes, also Brian Siroky who’s helping me with the equipment,” Hahn wrote.
“Many more sponsors are helping and as soon as they are set, I will announce them. Also all my childhood friends are helping.
“My heart is set on this and for the sake of my career, I wanted the best parts and bikes possible.”
Hahn has announced that he’ll have limited support from Factory Connection and Yoshimura for next year.
