Dual 2011 Australian motocross and supercross champion Jay Marmont has revealed that he will test for Monster Energy Kawasaki before he makes a decision on 2012.
The 28-year-old has been linked to a switch from CDR Rockstar Energy Drink Yamaha to Kawasaki’s factory effort throughout Super X, however nothing was ever officially confirmed.
In an interview with MotoOnline.com.au following the final round of Monster Energy Super X last Saturday night, Marmont admitted that he does have an offer from Kawasaki and could test the Pro Circuit-equipped KX450F before the year’s out.
“I’m off contract now with Yamaha and Kawasaki has basically got a contract there,” Marmont told MotoOnline.com.au.
“I’m going to go and ride the bike, make sure that I’m completely happy with the team and surroundings before I sign.
“Something will probably be out there fairly soon and I’ll keep you guys posted, for sure.”
CDR Rockstar Yamaha team boss Craig Dack first revealed at the beginning of September that Marmont was being courted by rival teams (click here to view news story).
