Qualifying has wrapped up here at Ipswich, location of the final round for the 2011 Monster Energy Super X, Australasian Supercross Championship.
JDR Motorex KTM’s Dan Reardon was a surprise fastest in the Pro Open class, the home favourite setting the benchmark ahead of series leader Jay Marmont (CDR Rockstar Yamaha) and Chris Blose (Hart and Huntington/InsureMyRide).
Reardon set a quick lap of 39.077, which was almost a full second up on Marmont’s 39.751, while Blose was the final rider under the 40-second bracket with a 39.969.
In the Lites class it’s Serco Yoshimura Yamaha’s Kirk Gibbs who has proven the early pace-setter, his best lap of 39.597 just under half a second quicker than Matt Moss’ (JDR Motorex KTM) 39.930.
Moss’ teammate Brenden Harrison has been ruled out of proceedings, crashing during practice and suffering suspected hand injuries.
